Bilbolbul International Comics Festival
The main aim of the festival is the promotion of the contemporary comics language in all of its forms, from illustration to animation and design, through exhibitions, competitions, panels, presentations, workshops, conferences and book signing.
One of BilBOlbul strong points is the widespread presence of the event throughout the medieval city centre of Bologna: in museums and art galleries, but also in alternative locations such as libraries, restaurants, and even private homes.
From the 8th edition of BilBOlBul in 2014, a new section of the festival has been created and dedicated to young professional and aspiring authors with public meetings, workshops and portfolio reviews.
A section is dedicated to the little ones - BilBOlbul for Kids – with exhibitions, lectures, workshops and authors book signing.
As part of the mobility programme, Chris Ware, David Wiesner, Géraldine Alibeu and Laurent Moreau are invited to the festival.
