Transbook seminar on book mediation - Bologna children’s book fair 2018
As part of the Transbook project Hamelin, an Italian cultural association, takes advantage of the Bologna children’s book fair to highlight the digital initiatives in children’s publishing industry.
For the 55th edition of the Bologna children’s book fair, Hamelin has gathered artists and children’s publishing specialists to discuss about a very actual topic, Unidentified reading objects? From books to apps.
Sylvie Vassallo, director of Montreuil Children’s book fair, Sophie Van der Linden, picture book specialist, Aksel Køie, editor of Step In Books, and the authors Vincent Godeau and Agathe Demois, winners of a special mention at the Bologna Digital Award 2018 with "Cache-Cache Ville/Hide & Seek City" (Seuil Jeunesse), will exchange their views and question the digital state of children’s literature.
Several options for discussion will be explored : the difficulties for an artist to translate a book into an app, the general place of this type of innovative projects in children’s literature, but also the way that they are perceived by the public and the new complementarity that exists between books and digital supports.
