Géraldine Alibeu and the Bratislava Illustration Bienale
As part of the mobility program, the French author and illustrator Géraldine Alibeu was invited by the Literary Information Centre on the occasion of her exhibition at the Bratislava Illustration Bienale (Slovakia).
Her day started with a meeting with the director of Bibiana, the International House of Art for Children. She then visited the publishing house for children Buvik, where she talked with editors and the illustrator Janou Kiselovou-Sitekovou, rewarded by the Bienale. After a talk with Viera Anoškinová, Secretary General of BIB, Géraldine Alibeu led a workshop with children.
The next day, the author participated in a round table gathering the general director of BIB, Zuzana Jarošová, rewarded illustrators and a publisher from Trio Publishing. Geraldine Alibeu then visited one of the most famous library for children in Slovakia, in Piešťany, where she led another workshop for children. Finally, the day ended with a visit of the exhibition dedicated to the illustrator Martina Matlovičová.
The last day was organized around two exhibitions : one dedicated to Albín Brunovský and Miroslav Cipár, famous slovak illustrators, and the other one to all the winners of the Bienale from 1967 to 2013.
